Ki Hong Lee
Hometown: Los Angeles
Globe Trotter: Ki Hong Lee comes to acting by way of his birthplace of Seoul, South Korea; a pit stop in Auckland, New Zealand; his home in Southern California; and, finally, church retreats. “I got my start doing skits on forgive- ness,” Ki Hong jokes of his early days, before he landed a one-line part on Victorious. After several TV stints, he booked his first series-regular job on ABC Family’s The Nine Lives of Chloe King.
A Good Run: Audiences will see Ki Hong’s silver-screen breakout performance in Wes Ball’s The Maze Runner, opposite Dylan O’Brien. While on location in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, “we were scorched by the sun and bit by horseflies,” he reveals, “but none of that really bothered me, because it was real to what we were doing.” The best part? “Stars. We don’t have those in L.A.”—Dana Mathews, for Teen Vogue
